Adopt

Adopt a donkey or two: We are always looking for good homes for our Available Donkeys. These donkeys come from a broad range of backgrounds. Some were abused, and then we spend the time to teach them how to trust humans again before they get adopted. Some were neglected, and we nurse them back to health. Some of the donkeys that come to us have not had any training, so we provide basic halter training, leading and hoof training. Some donkeys or mules were trained - or someone attempted to train them - using a wrong approach, and now they are afraid of halters, saddles, brushes, farrier tools, or people in general. In such cases, it takes much longer to improve the donkeys' behavior and trust level. We do not provide specialized saddle or driving training, but some of our donkeys would be very well suited for such a career, and some come to us already saddle or cart trained. Some of our donkeys come from good homes that just could no longer provide for them. Such donkeys often are very well suited for showing or even parades because they have never experienced any abuse and possess the amount of calmness and emotional balance necessary for a life in public. We also start suitable donkeys under pack saddle as far as our time allows. If you think you have enough space on your property (we like to see at least half an acre per donkey) to set up facilities for a pair of donkeys, let us know! Consider adopting a donkey from us rather than buying one from a backyard breeder.
