History: Marian and her daughter Rosie were surrendered by a nice lady from
Mountainair. They first came here for training but stayed for good when their elderly
owner suffered long-term health issues sand eventually passed away. Marian had been
purchased a few years earlier from someone in the South Valley and was untouchable
and untrusting even at the time of their arrival. She gave birth to Rosie sometime after
landing at her former owner's ranch. The pair is healthy and athletic, and they're in
training to become available for adoption when they're ready.
Personality: Marian is the more dominant of the bonded pair and will protect their feeder from intruders in the herd. The two jennets always eat together, though there have been times when Marian drives even Rosie away from feed, suggesting that Marian may have experienced nutritional hardships along with other neglect and abuse issues in her former life (though likely not at their Mountainair home). In the meantime, Marian has learned to appreciate treats and can be hand fed treats, and she is slowly getting familiar with being touched by humans. Marian is very bonded with her daughter, and we will make sure the two can stay together.
Diet: Marian does very well on a diet of bermuda grass hay and barley straw. Her herd has a salt and trace mineral block and occasionally gets a tub of Equilix minerals. Sponsor Marian here!
