SECA

Picture
   Jennet
   Age: c. 9
   Arrival: 2021
   Current status: In training

   ASSIGNED VOLUNTEERS:

History: Seca was an owner surrender from Santa Fe. She had
been purchased via Craigslist together with a newly born foal. The
foal did not survive for long, and Seca escaped from her new
home the same morning we were scheduled to visit for a training
consultation. Her breathing is somewhat noisy, indicating that
there may be scar tissue dating back to pulmonary issues she
may have had in her early life. She is in training for adoption but
not suitable as a pack burro or for other forms of strenuous activity.

Personality: She has a gentle and sweet personality but, like Luella, has had some negative experience being handled in her former life that makes training a bit challenging at times. She will be ready for adoption at some point. Seca is extremely social with other donkeys and bonds easily without getting too attached to an individual buddy.  She is also friendly with people and likes being groomed. Seca likes to hang out especially with Sundance, Nellie, and Luella.

Diet: Seca does very well on a diet of bermuda grass hay and barley straw. Her herd has a salt and trace mineral block and occasionally gets a tub of Equilix minerals. Sponsor Seca here!
