SUNDANCE

Picture
   Donkey Gelding
   Age: c. 21
   Arrival: 2011
   Current status: Sanctuary
   CURRENT SPONSORS:
   ASSIGNED VOLUNTEERS:

History: BLM burro from a California HMA. Sundance is one of our
earliest intakes; he was saved from a life as a roping donkey after
going through the BLM sale authority program. He must have
gone through a lot of traumatic experiences before coming to us,
including - very likely - being gelded without anesthesia.

Personality: Sundance has a very gentle and sweet personality but
needed a long time to become comfortable with people. He is
very bonded with Luella, a much younger jennet whom he first met when he arrived at our current facility in 2019 after many years in foster homes. He currently is the only gelding in a herd of 7 and very happy about his situation, although he also likes to play and wrestle with other boys.

Diet: Despite his advanced age, Sundance still does very well on a diet of bermuda grass hay and barley straw. His herd has a salt and trace mineral block and occasionally gets a tub of Equilix minerals. Sponsor Sundance here!
