VOLUNTEER!
|
While volunteering for a nonprofit does not earn you an income, it can be hugely rewarding in other respects - including as a step in your career path if you need to collect some work experience or a good reference for future jobs. Plus, volunteer hours with a 501c3 organization count toward the work requirements for SNAP and Medicaid. You can also learn a lot about farm work and, in particular, donkeys and mules, or you can learn about administrative tasks in the context of a nonprofit organization. And you can meet interesting people and make new friends.
Come join us and volunteer! We have a large range of tasks that can be done by volunteers, and there’s pretty much something for everyone. Our micro ranch just outside Estancia, NM, always needs additional hands especially for mucking pens and shelters, grooming, watering, and socializing with the donkeys and mules, many of whom come here with behavioral issues, PTSD, or general mistrust of humans. We also have skilled volunteers doing office work, accounting or legal work or various forms of marketing, sales, and creative work. All of our officers and board members - and even the executive director! - are volunteers as well. If you are interested in volunteering and have an idea of how you can help us, please fill out a volunteer application and a liability waiver forms below. |
